I had the world at my fingertips. For at least the 10th time in my life, I realized that I could do anything I wanted to do. I could join a band.



I could be a champion fighter.


I could join the major league.


I could build boats (yeah right).


I could even be president.


Well, technically I couldn't be president. I wasn't old enough yet and, really, I didn't have the experience, the desire, the strong party affiliation or anything else that gets anyone elected (including the anatomical hardware).

So while I'd always been taught to go for the gold. I figured I could settle for:

a) silver: trying something with a little less prestige. (page 10)
b) bronze: trying something a little closer to home. (page 9)
c) honorable mention: trying something practical that needs to get done. (page 6)
